#BROnTheRoad:
Spring Break in Palm Springs

Everyone deserves a break, and there’s no better time for a vacation than the start of spring. In most places, it’s not quite warm enough to spend the day soaking up the sun and any lingering snow has lost its luster. While our San Francisco offices don’t get the worst of winter weather, we still like to escape the chill of the city breeze. Our go-to destination for a quick trip? Flying south to the eternally sunny Palm Springs. Our motto? Pack light but pack smart. With only 12 items in tow, we made six outfits fit for every activity in Palm Springs. All we need is a carry-on and some creativity.

Peace Out

A seersucker suit works just as well in the office as it does on the plane and afterward during happy hour at the Ace Hotel. Our seersucker is lightweight with extra stretch, making this the kind of suit you want to wear all day. A slide sandal and a ruffled tee keep your look easy for every step of the journey.

Shop Under the Sun

Head to Palm Canyon Drive to peruse the vintage and antique wares from a time that lives on in this mid-century modern paradise. A seersucker jacket and a raffia hat evoke the essence of a past time, but denim shorts and a tee keep it modern. This hat is packable, so no matter how haphazardly you throw it in your suitcase, your look is sure to be sharp.

Sip Sundowners

Set your sights on the Parker Hotel after dark. See and be seen in highlighter swimwear that doubles as a bodysuit, seersucker pants and seriously sparkly earrings. A snakeskin bag has the ability to stand out while remaining neutral, and the crossbody strap makes it impossible to lose. Don’t forget a sweater for the evening desert chill.

Lounge Poolside

The Ace Hotel pool is the perfect place for a day in the sun, even if you stay elsewhere. Get to the pool early so you grab the perfect spot (and a drink!) to people-watch. Layer an open floral maxi dress and denim shorts over your swimsuit for a look that’s still cool, even after you leave. Oversize shades and your packable hat are equal parts sun-safe and stylish.

Dance the Night Away

Keep the party going at Melvyn’s, a late-night lounge preserved from the Rat-Pack era. Last night’s earrings and this morning’s floral maxi dress come together for an outfit that’s dancefloor-ready in a snap. A low heel makes cutting the rug more comfortable than ever.

Fly Away Home

Hit Cheeky’s, a cool diner from the 1950s, for a bite before the flight home. Your go-to on your last day? A machine-washable merino-wool cardigan. It’s the perfect weight to transition from desert to diner to direct sunlight on your trip to the airport, and when you’re finally seated, it makes the perfect blanket for airplane AC.
