Editor’s Letter: The October Issue
At Banana Republic, we’ve always been wild at heart. Established in 1978 with safari-inspired styles made from premium materials, we have traveled the globe searching for the finest fabrics ever since. Our founders instilled a passion for adventure and exploration that is still the heartbeat of who we are.
For October, we took the city to the country and headed upstate to the Hudson River Valley in New York. Our Creative Director Len Peltier set out to capture quintessential Banana Republic with a modern twist—think cozy cable knits and Italian corduroy, double-breasted plaid blazers and moleskin jackets all updated for today. The collection is an ode to nature’s own beauty and our explorer spirit.
“Nature always wears the colors of the spirit.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Always inspired by living a life with no boundaries, we teamed up with our friends at goop for a podcast series called Women on Top, featuring trailblazers like Elaine Welteroth, Marie Forleo and, of course, goop’s founder Gwyneth Paltrow. The eight-part series is dedicated to promoting female empowerment and equality—which is something Banana Republic has championed since the day we were founded in 1978 by a man and woman with equal footing. If you haven’t listened yet, download it here. New episodes are released every Tuesday morning through October 22. Prepare to be moved.
On the men’s side of the house, we dropped our second campaign with Jared Goff—the pro quarterback breaking boundaries of his own. This season, we took a playful approach by creating style memes featuring Jared’s many alter egos. Check it out, then head over to Twitter for a chance to win his style lineup or a $250 gift card.
We’d love to see how you are rocking our best fall looks! Tag @bananarepublic and #ItsBanana (for the guys, @bananarepublicmens and #BRMens) on Instagram for a chance to be featured on our feed or an upcoming email. Tip: Check out our October Look Book for a little creative inspo.
Happy exploring!
