Editor’s Letter: The September Issue
Welcome to the September Edit! This month’s feature, The Urban Jungle, explores style through Banana Republic’s urban utility heritage. Founded in 1978 as a travel- and safari-inspired brand, how we interact with city and nature continues to fuel our collection. Our fall pieces are quintessential Banana Republic styled for now—think zebra stripes, leopard spots, flight suits and more. From New York’s streets to its city parks, our campaign takes a playful look at the dualities of style, surroundings—and our innate attraction to nature.
This month’s ode to New York’s wild side really resonated with the team. We began swapping stories about our favorite NYC green spaces we visit to get away from it all. Check out our collection of favorite spots and see if your little oasis made the list.
In addition to being known for safari chic, Banana Republic is also synonymous for premium suits at a fair price—think Italian wools from some of the best mills on earth and bespoke-like details that rival Savile Row. We relaunched our New Suit Shop with more fits, fabrics and features so you can keep looking like a million bucks without having to win the lotto. And as every guy knows, finding a great suit is just the first step to leveling up your look. Bookmark our Suiting 101 story for all the fine details—from choosing the perfect fabric to mastering different tie knots.
We’d love to see you rocking our best fall looks! Tag @bananarepublic and #ItsBanana (for the guys, #BRmens) on Instagram for a chance to be featured on our feed or an upcoming email. Tip: Check out our September Look Book for a little creative inspo.
Ok, friends: Take it easy; it’s a jungle out there.
